Airport Parking Tips For a Smooth Trip

If you are flying from a UK airport and are considering using one of the airport parking facilities that are on offer there are various options you will have. If you have never used airport parking before then these options could seem a little strange if not confusing. In order to make your trip as hassle-free as possible just follow the below simple guidelines and you can't go far wrong:

Pre-book your parking

Ina lot of industries it pays to book early. Take the airline industry for example. Booking your flight as early as possible with an airline can save you upwards of forty percent of what it would if you left it until the last minute. The parking industry is no different. Car parks like to know that they have their places full all year round so they would book them up even twelve months in advance if they could. As a result of pre-booking, you can save yourself in the region of sixty percent on drive-up rates. Another huge benefit to pre-booking is availability. More and more people enjoy the convenience of airport parking today so all of the best car parks will book up quickly. If you don't pre-book you could end up paying way over the odds for your parking or worse still not getting any at all.

Do not book directly with a car park

This may sound like bad advice as usually if you go straight to the horse's mouth you will get a better deal. This may be the case in some industries but for the parking industry in general it is better to book through a parking agency. The reason for this is that agencies put a lot of business through lots of different car parks all year round as a result generally get preferential rates in order for this to continue. These savings can then be passed on to the general public.

People say getting a taxi is cheaper

You may be very surprised to hear that in a lot of cases it isn't. The above statement probably started as a result if somebody not pre-booking their car parking and having to park in the most expensive on-airport facility there was. You have nothing to lose so before booking your taxi call around and get some prices as you may find that you could save at least half what you would have spent on a taxi fair by booking airport parking. The added bonus is that there is then no waiting around on other people you are in total control.

Allow yourself enough time to check-in

This is something that car parks face all of the time. Generally, people will still set off at the same time they would if they were getting a taxi to the airport and then end up panicking when they are not checking in at the same time. Booking your car in can take a little time so the general advice given is to allow at least an extra thirty minutes to account for the parking stage of your journey
